Remote Tutoring
Zoom video and other collaboration software offer a number of useful features. Being able to share desktop apps, chat, and file sharing among them. The desktop client is somewhat more functional than the mobile client, and easier to use, so it is the preferred way to do this.
The most useful feature is being able to see what you, the student, are writing. To do this, we need a camera set up to look down on your work, as well as good lighting, and a dark pen or marker. If you already have a USB or webcam available, then you just have to find some way to mount it to look down at your workspace, access it in the normal way, and share that app.
If not, there is an app called IP Webcam that will turn your phone into a webcam (this is what I use). Once it is started on your phone, use the web browser on your desktop to connect to it and display the video. You then share the browser window during our session.
If you don't have a desktop or laptop, and are going to be using your mobile device, you should still find some way to be able to point the camera at your workspace. Don't forget the good lighting and dark pen or marker.
